JMMC Marketing Officer (IT)

Position Summary
The JMMC Facilities caters to meetings, conference functions and the provision of serviced accommodations, Dining and Catering services. This is an income generating or business unit of the University. The position of Marketing Officer (IT) will play a lead role in marketing strategies in promoting the stated programs, activities and services whilst supporting IT based systems that supports the said operations. Effort will be directed to enhance visibility, engagement with stakeholders and ensure seamless digital and technological workflow.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing:
- Create a marketing strategy for JMMC aligned to the University Strategic Plan 2026-2028, vision and objectives, priority areas and related deliverables;
- Develop an investment strategy of the JMMC collaboratively with the Properties Manager, Executive Officer to the Manu Folau and Finance Manager primarily;
- e. leverage assets and floor space for the purposes of ROI (return on investments) to generative lucrative existing and new income generation streams internally for the University;
- Identify and attract target audiences and tailor strategies to engage clients via patronage of JMMC facilities for meetings, conferences and accommodation. And responsible for seamless and successful bookings in collaboration with the JMMC Administrator;
- Create, manage and update the JMMC Website inclusive of the leverage of social media platforms with engaging content to promote and ensure that the JMMC features in local, regional and international tourism initiatives and strategies inclusive of booking agencies;
- Develop systems and processes and business plans to afford the JMMC in becoming a 24/7
Business hub of choice for accommodation and hosting of events;
- Design and execute marketing and promotion campaigns for all University programs, events and services to JMMC clients;
- Build and maintain relationships with the Manager Communications and Marketing internally inclusive of media outlets, partners and collaborators;
- Conduct research to identify new income streams and such opportunities for JMMC and must understand audience preferences;
- Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all possible and ideal marketing channels;
- Participate in all University extra-curricular activities and other communities related events of the University;
- Reports to the Administrator of the Jovili Meo Mission Center (JMMC);
- Assists in any other tasks required by the Management of the JMMC;
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Manu Folau/Vice Chancellor.
IT Responsibilities
- Offers daily operational and systems support;
- Responsible for the maintenance and strengthening of internet connection in the facility and setting up of a purchasing system for internet data to visitors and the University;
- Responsible for recording, filing and digitizing of all data, and work with the University data hub to store all JMMC files;
- Provide technical support for hardware and software and network related issues;
- Manage and maintain IT systems, ensuring security and regular updates;
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computers, printers and other devices;
- Set up and prepare IT equipment for meetings, conferences and events including audio-visual systems, projectors and other meeting platforms;
- Responsible for keeping all JMMC IT and Audio equipment safe from damage or theft;
- Provide technical support during meetings to ensure seamless operations
- Assist the IT Team on any other requested duties and tasks;
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the JMMC Administrator.
Qualifications
- A Diploma in IT, Marketing. Tourism and Business-related experience especially proven acumen in business growth and related income generation initiatives;
- A Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Marketing, Tourism and Business-related growth and related income generation experience is preferred;
- Demonstrated experience in IT, Marketing, Tourism and Business-related growth and related income generation experience;
- Networking and demonstrated acumen in relationship building with potential clients, partners and collaborators;
- Ability to demonstrate critical deliverables around branding and promotional initiatives or opportunities;
- Demonstrated ability to attract, manage and sustain lucrative new business/income generation relationships in the catering, accommodation and hosting of meetings, conferences and like activities.
