Information Technology Services

Information Technology Services also known as the PCU ICT Department was established in 1997 through funding from The Northelbian Evangelical Lutheran Church (Nordelbische Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche) in Germany and the efforts of Dr. Wolfgang Kruger. This Department provides students and staff with computer training, access to email, the internet, and other computer related services.

Overview

The IT staff are responsible for the day-to-day care of the whole campus network, including the email, finance system, printing, security, backups, cloud storage, telephone, computer management and Wi-Fi services. It is from this Office that the University’s computer network of about 80 devices is managed, including approx. 100 student devices.

Our Services

Moodle

Moodle is an open-source, password-protected learning management system for PCU. It is an extensive learning environment which is used by PCU’s staff and students. The Moodle App is also available to use.

Student Webmail

The Pasifika Communities University provides staff and students with a centrally hosted email service, available after activation of their User ID.

Library Catalog

To provide and manage information resources to support the Pasifika Communities University in its work of theological education, professional ministry training, and public theological discourse.

Students can get in touch with the PCU It Support Team by submitting the IT assistance request form online. Click link to create new request.

Free WiFi

PCU offers free Wi-Fi to staff and students across the campus at various hot spots. Students can contact the IT department to get connected.

Computer Lab

Students can access computers at the Library who do not have their own laptops. Visit the Puna'oa Library shall you require to use this service.

Printing Services

Students can print at the Library and the Bookshop. This is a charged service, and payment can be made from student book allowance or cash.

Telephony

Students and staff get access to our cloud telephone to be able to make calls for a small charge. Phone services for students can be accessed at the main Reception while staff have phone extensions at their offices.
