Pastoral group responsibilities and activities
Pastoral groups are responsible for the ‘pastoral welfare’ of the university through its members and to support its members on their pastoral needs. Pastoral leaders are responsible for arranging time/space/place for the group to meet at least once a quarter Pastoral groups are responsible for pastoral visitations to its members on behalf of the university when they are sick either at the hospital or at home. Pastoral leaders are responsible for informing the office of the Faatere (Registrar) of any death or sickness of members or closerelatives of a member. Pastoral groups will organize a reguregu in consultation with the University Chaplain for any deceased member or close relative of a
member such as parents on behalf of the University. Pastoral groups are responsible for leading the reguregu or pastoral service in collaboration with the college Chaplain on behalf of the University. Pastoral matters discussed in a pastoral meeting should be strictly confidential. The Principal/Acting Principal can be consulted regarding any serious pastoral concern. Any student, staff, or faculty who joins the University later in the year shall join pastoral group 8.
