Registration Form WRITE PASIFIKA – “Crafting Effective Writing”

Pasifika conceptualisation of how they see the world, expressed in speech, activity and writing, is deeply rooted in orality, community, and connection to the land and ocean. Pasifika academics, intellectuals and students, have a reservoir of resources available to them to conceive of, design, and practice writing patterns that should resonate with their Pasifika readers/listeners in their writing. This ‘Write Pasifika – Crafting Effective Writing’, three-days intensive course provides this opportunity to PCU under-graduate and post-graduate students, academics and professional staff, in semester 1 of 2026. And writing-related support resources, mentoring, and more. At the heart of this unique course is a dedication to Pasifika ways of writing and communicating, shape by Pasifika’s diverse learning and knowing traditions.

PCU’s Whole of Life vision of education and its Pasifika leadership narrative offer unique, contemporary and tangible ways of seeing and addressing present crisis-issues in education, leadership, development and ecology, in excitingly unique ways. ‘Write Pasifika – Crafting Effective Writing’ is one way of communicating these aspirations to the region and the world. The content of the course is constructed and built, not from the standard ‘western’ rules of writing that one learns in the lecture rooms in high learning institutions, but on Pasifika indigenous worldviews, with different criteria for writing. This is the uniqueness of Write Pasifika course. The course targets PCU students, facilitators of learning, and professional staff.
