Here are the 20 proud stakeholders and owner churches of the regional Pasifika Communities University (PCU), spread throughout 16 countries of the Pacific region. These churches come from 6 Christian traditions: Methodist, Anglican, Congregational, Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Uniting. Which is why PCU will continue to be the only ecumenical educational institution in the region. They had a vision to reframe the Pacific as the “Pasifika Household,” challenging the artificial colonial boundaries of Polynesia, Melanesia, and Micronesia imposed by the colonizers, treating each other as members of the Pasifika household, a kinship family who share the moana identity, heritage, and purpose. PCU will continue the vision of PTC to produce prophetic leaders of justice, but also to move further to produce a transformative and liberative educational platform to critically articulate the current development narrative that destroy the Pasifika household and develop life-centred models informed by our Pasifika ‘whole of life’ faith, cultural, ethical, and spiritual perspectives. More will be added soon on this church membership list.
