“The Journal of Contemporary Pasifika Theologies” (CPT)

Today, PCU reached another milestone by launching its newly established journal of theology called The Journal of Contemporary Pasifika Theologies (CPT). The Manu Folau (Vice Chancellor) and also the Editor of the journal, Rev Prof. Dr Upolu Luma Vaai, was the keynote speaker. He said, “the journal aims to provide a unique platform for original theological research articles and book reviews from and about the Pacific region. Its ecumenical and relational approach is rooted in a ‘Whole of Life’ philosophy that furthers an integral vision of the household of God. The journal invites inter- and transdisciplinary work that relates contemporary Pasifika theology to pressing societal issues such as interfaith relations, gender and environmental justice. It encourages decolonial and communities-based research methodologies and welcomes innovative and prophetic theological voices for rethinking Pacific history, making sense of the present, and shaping the future.” In other words, as he continued, “We need a Theology that is crafted from our own Pasifika itulagi. One that is salty, dirty, and humid.”

The journal has an international editorial board.
