This morning’s session Acting Director RILED Aisake Casimira, Head of Theology & Ethics at PCU Rev, Assoc, Prof Faafetai Aiava and PhD student Rev Isoa Vatanitawake shared with the Toloa’s on Translating Pasifika Philosophies for Leadership Diplomacy.
Pasifika diplomacy is not merely a political tool; it’s a sacred practice rooted in ancestral wisdom, relational ethics, and spiritual stewardship. It’s leadership with soul, where diplomacy is woven into the very fabric of communal life.
The 3 gentlemen shared about the essence of Pasifika Diplomacy and the fact that it is guided by relationality, respect, and reciprocity. It’s not about power over others, but power with others—navigating relationships with care and intentionality. One of the main things that the Toloa’s was to understand from the session this morning how current conditions of leadership and diplomacy are shaped and framed by philosophy concepts and philosophies outside Pasifika and their impacts.
